The week before the CDM Super Late Model series returns to the El Paso Speedway Park brought dramatic skies and an excel-lent track. New clay had been added for the return of the CDM Late Models, USRA Dirt Modifieds, Super Trucks, Street Stocks, and the Hornets.
The CDM Late Models came out first for their main event,
which proved to be good. Cliff Hansen and Nita Deetz were on the pole. The green waved and Dave Deetz went to work early. He would show the way until Alberson in 43 catches up to him and passes him. Garrett would show the way. Mercedes Abercrombie, in her 36 car, was doing solid!! With her change to Late Model s, she has been tagging the field for her first 5 weeks.Tonight, she came in 3rd, moving through the field easily. Jimmy Ray came to 2nd, tried to catch up to Garrett, then a yellow came out. At the restart Jimmy Ray was using the bottom. He would not get a better run than Garret, though. The Batteries+Bulbs, Argyle Welding Supply, Rio Grand Foot Clinic, #43 of Garrett Alberson takes it to victory lane.
In the Super Trucks main event, not much went on as it was Sherman Barnett and Ismael Garcia for the lead and the "Sherminator" took the win.
The Street Stocks came out next and put on a show. Frankie Ray in his #55 was on fire all night long!! He gave Donavon Flores something to worry about. Flores finally did get around him, though, the 07 of Flores was back in victory lane.
The Hornets were out for their main event. Devan Smith out of Las Cruces made the return to the "Park". Devan was in excellent shape as he led through the whole race. Larry Maag, with a flat tire, would end his night as he was battling for 3rd with Benny Pena. Pena moved into 2nd, with 2 laps to go, a yellow came out. Devan was not so great on the restart, Pena passed him for the win.
The USRA Dirt Modifieds raced 20 laps with a field of 12 cars.  Your front row of Jake O'Neil and Royal Jones were ready to go. The green waved and boy, Jake took off!! Jake would have everything in command as Royal ran 2nd to him. But just past half way in the race, Jake suffered  a right rear flat tire. Jones moved into the lead. On the restart, Jimmy Ray was coming. Christy Georges was up in the top 4, she had something for the leaders but then her engine blew. With that, two tuff cars were out, but here comes Tom Georges. Tom was just lighting fast around the bottom of the speedway. He had nothing for Jimmy Ray, though. Austin Adams moved to 4th. John Carney,Sr., in an Xmod, finished 5th. So Royal Jones would take the win for the Modifieds. Jimmy Ray 2nd, Tom Georges 3rd, Austin Adams 4th. The USRA Dirt Modifieds raced 20 laps with a field of 12 cars.
